New York, NY – Quincannon Associates is pleased to announce the formation of our Low Carbon Solutions Team, an initiative aimed at addressing the urgent challenge of climate change. With the shipping industry responsible for moving approximately 90% of the world’s goods, it is poised to play a vital role in environmental solutions and Quincannon Associates is stepping up to make a significant impact.
Given the rapid advancements in low carbon technologies set against the backdrop of a clouded economic outlook, the need for strategic investment and innovation in reducing global dependency on fossil fuels is more critical than ever. Quincannon Associates recognizes that there is no single solution to this complex issue. Instead, it requires a close collaboration and rollout of new technologies coupled with better utilization of existing shipping assets.
Our team, with resources strategically placed around the globe, provides clients with critical insights into key areas representing the forefront of low carbon solutions:
Clean Hydrogen: Led by Terry Kearney and Anthony McDonald, our Hydrogen team provides clients with in-depth insight to the rapidly developing Green / Blue Ammonia space. This includes overviews of the current projects, potential projects, and insight into how Ammonia moves today and will move in the future.
Renewable Fuels & Renewable Feedstocks: Mark Mirosevic-Sorgo, Matthew Andrews, Daniel Villanova, and Darry Lim guide our Renewables team. The Renewables team actively works in the international and domestic US shipping markets including time charter vessels as well as the global movement of renewables and renewable feedstocks into key consumption areas.
Carbon Emissions: Simon Cass and Theano Karathanasi steer the Emissions team. While Carbon sequestering is being expanded on an industrial level, the Emissions team is focused on analyzing ship-based emissions in the bulk marine space. With vessels spending upwards of 50% of the time in port, an objective review of when and where emissions are occurring is crucial to understanding how to reduce ship-based emissions in the future.
